FOUNDER

Anike Mlemchukwu
Founder
Anike has spent 15+ years working with children with disabilities and their families in the UK and US, which shaped her understanding of their care needs and how they build trust in a provider. She holds a BSc in Psychology from Brunel University and a postgraduate qualification in Early Childhood Education from the University of Cambridge. She launched Lapapoe in 2019 as a product marketplace with international sales, later relaunching it in Atlanta as a respite-care matching platform. Lapapoe is post-revenue today, run by a three-person team, with her focus coming into the RightShift Accelerator on developing the technical product, automating currently manual matching, and learning to build a data room
Former healthcare executive with deep domain expertise in women’s health. Strong product-market validation through clinical partnerships and user research.

The wrong match is the same as no care at all

Nearly 40% of parents of children with disabilities leave full-time work to care for their child. Generic care marketplaces do not solve that, because the constraint is not supply of caregivers — it is finding someone who understands a specific child’s developmental, behavioral, and communication needs, and who stays. Lapapoe is built on compatibility and continuity: matching families to providers who fit, and keeping that relationship intact rather than restarting it every time. The company is already serving families and generating revenue, with the matching process currently run manually — the next step is building the technical product that automates it.
