From Idea to Launch:

Maestro™ by Collaborative Real Estate for Atlanta's Tech Square

Maestro™ by Collaborative Real Estate is the operating platform for Atlanta's Tech Square — one of America's densest corporate innovation districts. We took it from idea to live deployment as one studio team: design, product, engineering, ML, and DevOps under one roof.

Solution

Three connected portals — Admin, Member, University — over a shared structured data layer. Augmented by Natural-language Search, Community Insights, and three autonomous agents (People, University, Organization), each with multiple sub-agents that continuously enrich the platform's data from external sources.

What we did

  • Custom Product Development
  • UI/UX Design
  • Full-stack Engineering
  • ML / Data
  • DevOps

  • Custom product development, end-to-end
  • UI/UX design across three portals + design system
  • Full-stack engineering (React, Python)
  • ML and data — natural-language search and community insights
  • Three orchestrated autonomous agents, each with multiple sub-agents
  • DevOps and infrastructure-as-code

Strategic thinking

The hardest thing to scale at Tech Square is the same thing that makes it valuable: dense colocation of people, ideas, and partnerships. Without a platform, that value lives in calendars and hallway conversations.

01
Three purpose-built portals, one shared data layer

Each user gets a portal designed for their role — not a homepage with role flags.

02
Treat data as the product

The structured data layer, search, and enrichment agents are the product. Portals are surfaces over them.

03
One team, end-to-end

Collaborative Real Estate didn't have to stitch design, engineering, ML, and DevOps vendors. One studio, one conversation.

Enterprise Discipline, Consumer Polish.

One design system across three portals, three user roles, and three breakpoints.

We began with a thesis about what a modern innovation ecosystem could be if it had the right operating platform underneath it. After considering a number of firms, we chose Rightshift primarily due to the time they spent listening and the speed at which they digested the challenge. After that, they didn't just build to spec — they pressure-tested the thesis, sharpened the product surfaces, and helped us see the bigger market opportunity Maestro sits in. That's a partner, not a vendor.

Rightshift runs as one team across Product, Engineering, and DevOps, and they operate with a high level of discipline. They pushed back when something didn’t make product sense and insisted on following mature engineering practices for even the most minor changes. Status was visible, dependencies were named early, and the handoffs that usually break across vendors didn't exist for us, because there were no handoffs.
